sheertex ad campaign

The goal with this project was to create a two piece ad campaign for one of Time Magazine’s Best Inventions of 2018. Our chosen product was Sheertex’s “unbreakable” pantyhose. With these advertisements, we wanted to showcase the product’s unique selling point–unbreakability–while selling to our target audience–women who wear pantyhose. Anyone who has worn pantyhose know how easy they are to rip, so the intention of these ads is to show Sheertex’s innovation in pantyhose materials.

We started by researching Sheertex pantyhose. We discovered that their patent-pending knit that is 10x stronger than steel, and it is made with the same fiber that is found in bulletproof vests. They also had variants in color, style, and size. Next we researched Sheertex’s competition and found other companies that claim to sell indestructible pantyhose as well. The competition was more inexpensive, but they had fewer variants and not as positive reviews.

After researching the product, we came up with a list of possible visuals for the ad campaign. From that list, we sketched thumbnails of our favorite ideas. Next, we chose the best thumbnails and began to develop them digitally. Further refining our ideas involved taking our own photos. We decided to stick to a route of exemplifying different scenarios in which regular pantyhose would easily rip.
